Trip to Moscow Show and White Wind Kennel
(Svetlanna Kokonena and Sylvia Pons)

The trip to Moscow was a fascinating travel for both Sylvia and me, and it has brought us many new impressions, acquaintance with new friends and certainly meetings with old friends. As we were we only on the show together, we will tell about the first impressions by turns.

Sylvia: I arrived in Moscow on April 20. At this evening - my God all had changed, all was the same as everywhere, but some details were still alive, "Fransouski? " and I was so happy :)
Russia is Russia and for me at every time it's a new story, a new dream, new friends, new smiles and a new life :) Before I give you my impressions, I would be glad to thank Irina, who welcomed me at the airport, Rose and Sergey and Sveta, Helena, White Wind, and all the others around who offered me a new smile in a new sight.
Thanks for all the dogs I met and all treasures I shared with all of you.

Sveta: I always loved Moscow, but in this arrival I expected something special. We could not meet with Sylvia on Saturday; therefore we agreed to meet on the show. We never met each other before, therefore our hope was Ridz. And it has taken place. Sylvia recognised Ridz and certainly near to him there were me and my husband Sergey.

Sylvia: Impression of my arrival at the exhibition: all SROs were quiet with their owners. It was a nice day with a lot of people and with a lot of friends - a very nice and wonderful day. I would like to congratulate all people who came to show their dogs, it was wonderful for me. In a special way I would like to present all my greetings to the MIKOMS kennel and especially to Galina and Irina. In spite of the storm, they continue to show us wonderful dogs and they give us hope for a marvellous gene pool.  I know that it was never easy but I only can notice that they keep the same fancy, the same devotion about their breeds and for all of us; I think their work will be and is a daily gift to SRO.

Sveta: The show was held in a large stadium. While we waited for the performance to start we had time to get acquainted to almost all owners of the SROs present. I should tell you that the world of SRO is a special world, everywhere I felt like  in a circle of friends. At last the show began. Sylvia and I exchanged impressions and together worried for the dogs in the ring. The dogs were certainly different. Some were placed first, some received the qualification “Very Good”, but overall judge and breed expert Ludmila Santeladze judged strictly, but fair. In the pictures you can see the dogs that were present at this show. The majority of dogs in Russia are working dogs. This means that they carry out the direct duties - protect and protect, but they are pets (or darlings) of their owners. The day has flown by imperceptibly. The trip to kennel “Beliy Veter” (White Wind) was scheduled for the next day.

Sylvia: The day after, Sveta and I went to the White Wind kennel. Mister Sergey drove the car and we were accompanied by our clown Helena who was terrible in joking this day :).

Sveta: For Sylvia there were many surprises that day. The road was completely not direct, long and not so well - a present-day Russian road. But this was not important because our company was so cheerful; we went to this kennel to look at perfect dogs. Some of them obtained first places in their classes. At last we arrived. We met the owners of the kennel, they are remarkable affable people and they invited us to diner. I understood, that this is a national tradition: it is necessary to feed the visitors first, and then the rest will follow…

But for Sylvia: Everything in this country starts with a meal:) Poor fransouski:) Eating, drinking, but where are the dogs???????

Sveta: Certainly this kennel accommodation did not look  like kennels we are used to see. But Tamara and Valeriy only build a kennel and house, therefore I hope, that all will be good. Their dogs are behaving perfectly and they are remarkable people, smiling and hospitable. We parted and said goodbye as if we were relatives.
On the way back we stopped near a souvenir shop. Here we had much fun. Both Sylvia and I were puzzled by the huge quantity of beautiful things. We decided to buy some little souvenirs. Helena told me a small secret: if the seller would hear a foreign language, he would raise the price at once. Therefore they explained the prices to us in German Marks and then I bought the necessary things.
After this we visited Helena’s place. Again we were invited for diner :). And we had a very interesting conversation with breed expert Ludmila, who judged the SROs at the show. We looked at photos, video recordings, and talked, talked .… We learned a lot of new facts about the breed. Ludmila responded in a very positive way at Sylvia’s dogs. She also liked Ridz but she advised us to work with him, to correctly finish his physical development. I am very grateful to her for her advice.
But unfortunately all good things come to an end. There comes a time to part and say goodbye. We have told each other many good words. But I knew that I would miss Sylvia and her jokes and stories about dogs very much. But I know we shall meet again, and this could even be soon.
